Family Astronomy Night Presented by the Lambton Central - Petrolia Optimist and The Petrolia Disovery on Saturday, August 28th a movie presentation of Wall-E at 7:30 followed by star gazing at 9:30 pm. Petrolia makes its mark at Watson Lake, Yukon Territory 
Petrolia Town Crier Les Whiting along with his wife Karen and Petrolia residents Bob & Anna-May Aldous, Doug & Bonnie Clark, Grev and Shar Martin recently made the 5,089 km trek from Petrolia to Watson Lake, Yukon.
Watson Lake is famous for its Sign Post Forest which displays over 10,000 signs erected on numerous posts. The signs found here represent communities from around the world, and now thanks to our local group of travellers Petrolia will forever be represented.

Any young person agend 18-25 as of August 28th are welcome to enter. 
PETROLIA RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) WEEKEND - Support our Troops The Town of Petrolia invites you to join us in a special celebration in support of our troops and their families. WEAR RED and take the opportunity to be part of our souvenir 4X6 picture, sign the banner which will be sent to the troops and attend the Julian Austin concert at the VPP on Friday or Saturday night. Learn more about how you can support our troops and their families. Proceeds from the weekend's festivities will go to the following organizations; 1) Hero to Hero, 2) Wounded Warrior.ca, 3) Peacekeeper Park, 4) Lambton County Military Family Support Group.
